Xabier Rubiato

Xabier Rubiato has a diverse work experience. Xabier currently works as a Data Scientist at Unit8 since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at ID Quantique from September 2019 to March 2020, where they undertook a Master Thesis Internship. During this internship, they focused on research and development for the next generation of superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors. Xabier successfully fabricated two new iterations of these detectors and validated the proof of concept.

From September 2017 to July 2019, Xabier worked at Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Xabier held the position of Student Assistant Service Desk, where they provided IT assistance to the EPFL community and contributed to the development of procedures and protocols. Xabier also worked as a General Physics Teaching Assistant, helping students with their exercises and correcting exams.

In August 2017, Xabier completed a summer internship at the Swiss Plasma Center, EPFL. Xabier'smain task was analyzing the outputs of the LIUQE program used for equilibrium reconstruction in plasma experiments. Xabier developed MATLAB scripts to automate the execution of LIUQE and analyze the outputs. Xabier'swork was continued by another student as a semester project.

Xabier Rubiato's education history started in 2001 at the Institut International de Lancy - IIL, where they completed their French Baccalauréat in the Scientific Section in 2014. Xabier then enrolled at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) in 2014 and obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in the field of Section de Physique in 2017. Continuing their education at EPFL, Xabier completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Applied Physics, with a focus on Engineering, from 2017 to 2020. During the same period, they also pursued a Minor in Computational Sciences, specializing in Machine Learning and Data Analysis.
