Maurice Jones

Maurice Jones is the current Director at Unite Us. Prior to this position, Maurice served as the President and CEO of Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) from September 2016 to February 2021. Before that, they were the Secretary of Commerce and Trade for the Commonwealth of Virginia from January 2014 to August 2016. Maurice has also held the position of Deputy Secretary at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development from April 2012 to January 2014. In addition, they were the President and Publisher of Pilot Media: The Virginian-Pilot, PilotOnline.com, and Pilot Targeted Media from April 2008 to April 2012. Maurice also served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the Commonwealth of Virginia, Office of the Governor from January 2002 to March 2005. Maurice's previous experience also includes serving as the Director of the CDFI Fund at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from October 2000 to January 2001, and as the Deputy Director for Policy and Programs at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from February 1998 to October 2000.

Maurice Jones attended Hampden-Sydney College for their Bachelor's Degree. Maurice then went on to study International Relations and Affairs at the University of Oxford for their Master's Degree. Lastly, they pursued a Juris Doctor (J.D.) at the University of Virginia School of Law.
