Assistant Director Health And Safety at International Union, UAW

Jim H. has a diverse work experience spanning a period of over 20 years. Jim started their career in 2001 as a Journeyman Electrician at R.K. Armstrong, where they worked until 2007. In 2007, they joined General Motors as an Operator and Health and Safety Trainer. Jim also had a brief role at Delphi as a Job Setter. In 2008, they were assigned as a Special Assigned employee at UAW-GM CENTER FOR HUMAN RESOURCES. Later, in 2016, they became the UAW International Health and Safety Representative at International Union, UAW. Currently, they hold the position of Assistant Director Health and Safety at the same company.

Jim H. attended Wayne State University from 2022 to 2023, where they pursued a field of study in Labor Studies. Jim did not obtain a degree during this time. Prior to their enrollment at Wayne State University, Jim completed a Certificate Program in Occupational Health and Safety at Eastern Michigan University. In July 2023, they obtained several certifications, including OSHA #7005 Public Warehousing and Storage, OSHA #7105 Evacuation and Emergency Planning, OSHA #7115 Lockout/Tagout, OSHA #7845 Recordkeeping Rule Seminar, and OSHA #7505 Introduction to Incident (Accident) Investigation, all from Eastern Michigan University.
