Douglas B. Ernest

Douglas B. Ernest currently serves as the company’s Chief Credit Officer. He is responsible for overseeing the quality of the company’s loan portfolio, including underwriting, credit administration, special assets and establishing policies. Ernest’s team works to maintain the company’s strong credit culture and credit risk management.

Ernest has worked in the banking industry for over 30 years and held various positions at United such as, commercial loan officer, market president, regional president and credit risk manager.

Ernest holds the designation of Credit Risk Certified (CRC) by the Risk Management Association, and is also a graduate of the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking and Commercial Lending School. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and MBA from West Virginia University.
