Job Description
United is seeking an enthusiastic mechanical engineer to support power generation and heavy industrial projects in our Mt. Laurel, NJ office. As part of the mechanical / piping engineering team, the successful applicant will perform mechanical calculations, develop specifications, equipment, line and valve lists and design drawings using AutoCAD software. The successful applicant will contribute to projects including new build simple- and combined cycle powerplants and plant retrofits throughout the United States that require all facets of mechanical/piping engineering and design.

Minimum Requirements 

Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.

  • Coursework in Thermodynamics

Experience

Minimum one (1) year internship, co-op, or related engineering experience.
Experience to include:
a. AutoDesk AutoCAD 2D design capability

Candidates should also have strong communication skills and be capable of collaborating with multi-discipline engineers and designers in a multi-discipline project environment

Preferred Requirements 

  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certificate
  • Coursework in HVAC Engineering
  • Coursework in Power Engineering (nuclear, solar or general thermal cycles)
  • Experience with AutoDesk Plant3D design software.
