Mark Townsend

Mark Townsend is a seasoned operations leader with extensive experience in the fitness industry. Currently serving as the Head of Central Operations at United Fitness since February 2025, Mark previously held multiple general management roles at Virgin Active for nearly a decade, including Dual Site General Manager. Mark also contributed to Nuffield Health as General Manager and National Personal Training Manager from March 2009 to December 2013. Mark began the career as a Fitness Manager at Virgin Active from January 2007 to January 2012. Mark holds a BSc (Hons) in Sports and Exercise from Canterbury Christ Church University, completed between 1999 and 2002.
