Peter Guzman

Peter Guzman is an experienced plant breeder currently serving as a Plant Breeder at United Genetics Seeds Co., specializing in cucurbits and onion breeding since May 2022. Concurrently, Peter holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the University of the Philippines Los Baños and previously was a Senior Project Leader at the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) from December 2021 to September 2022. Peter's experience includes a role as Corn Product Selection Lead at Syngenta from 2017 to 2021 and various breeding positions at Monsanto Company from 2005 to 2017. Earlier in the career, Peter served as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where research focused on yield QTL in soybean. Peter obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Plant Breeding from Iowa State University.
