Su Subode serves as a Tomato Breeder at United Genetics Seeds Co. since January 2021, primarily focusing on processing tomatoes. Simultaneously, Su is a PhD Candidate at Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, researching the integration of disease resistance, quality, and yield traits in processing tomatoes through marker-assisted and genomic selection. Prior experience includes roles as a DNA Marker Specialist/Breeder Assistant at United Genetics Seeds Co. from March 2016 to July 2018, where Su conducted DNA marker analysis and field selection, and as an intern in both the processing tomato breeding program at HM Clause in summer 2015 and the Blumwald Lab studying plant physiology in 2013. Su holds a Bachelor of Science in Plant Sciences from the University of California, Davis, and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural and Horticultural Plant Breeding at The Ohio State University.
