Fred Taylor is the Director of Safety, Quality & Mission Success at United Launch Alliance. Fred has over 20 years of experience in the private equity and startup industries.
Fred began their career at Alvarez & Marsal, a leading private equity fund and consultancy. Fred deployed full-time to oversee all aspects of merging two recently purchased portfolio companies. Their deliverables included recovering $715K in supplier overcharges, delivering additional $2.5M 5-year savings with 3PL outsource and negotiations, managing the integration budget, and achieving $3M in synergy savings. Fred was also key in merging two separate ERP systems and converting acquired employees to new HRIS and PEO.
In November 2019, Fred left Alvarez & Marsal to become the Chief Operating Officer of BICO, a startup that designs and manufactures hybrid microscopes. Under Fred's leadership, the company was successfully sold to CELLINK/BICO in July 2021.
Fred Taylor has an MBA from Columbia Business School with a dual emphasis in finance and international business. Fred also has a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona. In addition, they are certified in the Zodiac QRQC System from Zodiac Aerospace, the IDEX Business System from IDEX Corporation, Breakaway Sales Coaching and Breakaway Selling from Honeywell, and the Honeywell Operating System and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) from Honeywell. Fred is also certified in negotiating from Karass and in Lean Certification Series and Lean Certification from San Diego State University. Finally, they have a certification in Total Quality Management from Crosby College.
Their manager is Salvatore T. Tory Bruno, President & Chief Executive Officer. Fred Taylor works with Andrew Blackmon - Chief Information Officer, Steve Furuto - VP, Finance and Strategic Partnerships, and Sondra Barbour - Vice President and General Counsel.
