Chris Baso, CFP® CLU® RICP® has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Starting in 2005 at The Hartford as a Short Term Disability Claims Examiner II, Chris adjudicated disability claims and calculated overpayments. In 2007, they joined Farm Bureau Financial Services as an Agent, and then moved to Headwaters Agency, Inc as an Independent Agent in 2008. From 2009 to 2010, Chris worked as an Agent at Professional Insurance Providers before joining United Life Insurance Company as a Regional Marketing Manager in 2010. At United Life, they acted as an external wholesaler in Minnesota and North Dakota territories. In 2018, Chris became a Financial Advisor at Principal Financial Group, where they provided insurance and advisory products. In 2020, they joined IFC National Marketing as a Producer Consultant, and later founded Smart Retirement MN, LLC, offering investment advisory services. Since 2021, Chris has been working as a Regional Sales Director at United Life Insurance Company.

Chris Baso, CFP® CLU® RICP® completed their high school education at Menahga High School from 1995 to 1999, earning a H.S. Diploma. Chris Baso, then went on to attend North Dakota State University from 1999 to 2004, where they obtained a B.S. degree in Sociology. In 2012 to 2014, Chris attended The American College of Financial Services to pursue a Certified Financial Planner Certification. In December 2014, they obtained the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) qualification from the CFP Board. Furthermore, Chris has additional certifications as a "Registered Representative of The Leaders Group, Inc. Member FINRA/SIPC," obtained from FINRA.
