Katharine Marshall is a seasoned human rights professional with extensive experience in international law and policy. Currently serving as a Human Rights Officer at the United Nations Human Rights in New York, Katharine has held various roles within the organization since January 2016, focusing on the Middle East and North Africa. Prior to this, Katharine contributed to the International Committee of the Red Cross as a Law & Policy Online Editor and Delegate in the Communication & Law Department. Katharine's expertise includes conflict resolution and capacity-building for civil society, as demonstrated during a legal consultancy with the Public International Law & Policy Group. An accomplished academic, Katharine holds a JD in International Law and Legal Studies and an MA in International Politics from the American University Washington College of Law, along with a BA in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.
