Patrice Vahard

Representative And Head Of Country Office at United Nations Human Rights

Patrice Vahard has a long and extensive work experience in the field of human rights. Starting in 1991, they worked for Amnesty International as a Human Rights Development Field Officer until 1996 when they became the Director of a Regional Office. In 1999, they joined the United Nations as a Human Rights Field Coordinator, and later worked as a Regional Advisor and Human Rights Officer for United Nations Human Rights from 2003 to 2009. From 2009 to 2018, Patrice held various roles within the United Nations, including Head of Human Rights and Governance and Senior Advisor. Currently, they work for the United Nations Human Rights as the Representative and Head of the Country Office since October 2018.

Patrice Vahard obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in International Law from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika. This educational attainment was successfully completed between 2011 and 2014.
