Ms. Sura (Serri) Mahmood is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in human rights, research, and policy analysis. Currently serving as a Human Rights Officer at the United Nations Human Rights since March 2022, Ms. Mahmood has previously held significant roles, including Research and Policy Officer at Humboldt University of Berlin and various positions at the United Nations Human Rights, UN Women Iraq, and the International Labour Organization. Ms. Mahmood's expertise encompasses conducting in-depth research, data analysis, capacity building, and engagement with multiple stakeholders on issues related to human rights and sustainable development goals. With advanced degrees in International Affairs and Humanitarian Action from esteemed institutions in Geneva, along with a strong foundation in Statistics from Baghdad University, Ms. Mahmood brings a robust academic and professional background to their work.
