Lidana Jalilvand began her career at UNIS in 1984. For the past 35 years, she has served the school, with utmost dedication, in numerous capacities ranging from Director of Admissions, Executive Assistant to the Director and Director of Special Programs. She also taught French to Junior School and Middle School students, as well as, Social & Cultural Anthropology in Tutorial House IB Higher Level. She holds a doctorate degree in “Social & Cultural Anthropology” from the University of Paris, Sorbonne and a Master’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Sociology and Science of Education from Sorbonne. She holds certifications in “Management of Non-Profit Organizations” from New York University, Robert Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and “Management Training for Daycare Directors” from Fordham University. Lidana is multilingual. She is fluent in English, French and Persian. Lidana is a proud mom of a UNIS graduate (1999).
Currently, in her capacity as the Director of Special Programs, Lidana manages, oversees, and administers the After School & Mother Tongue Programs, the Care Program, and the Spring Camp. Since 1993, Lidana has also been managing and administering the annual UNIS, IBO approved , IB Diploma Teacher Training. Every year, nearly 250 teachers and administrators, from all over the world and the United States, are trained at UNIS in twenty or more IB Diploma subjects. The UNIS IB Teacher Training is highly recognized by the IB community. It plays an important role in placing UNIS at the heart of international education.
