Ian Richards

Ian Richards is an experienced economist with a focus on digital government transformation and investment facilitation, currently serving at the United Nations since July 2003. Significant contributions include coordinating public sector digital projects in the MENA region, developing partnerships with governments and donors, and creating the UNCTAD Digital Investment Guides Programme. In addition to extensive roles within UN entities, Ian holds positions on various boards, including the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund and the International Civil Servants Mutual Association, overseeing financial and operational matters. A contributing author for Interpress News Service and a member of several committees, Ian has also cultivated academic credentials with an MSc in Economics from the University of Warwick.
