Jean-Francois Ruel

Jean-Francois Ruel is an experienced professional with a strong background in international relations and diplomatic affairs. Currently serving as the Special Assistant to the Deputy Director in the Coordination and Response Division at United Nations OCHA since September 2014, Ruel previously held roles including Political Affairs Officer for the United Nations in Mali, and International Consultant for the Organization of American States, where significant projects supporting the Government of Haiti were developed. Ruel has extensive experience in monitoring political developments, advising on electoral processes, and managing teams, demonstrated through positions held at the Organization of American States and as a part-time translator for The World Bank. Ruel holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from Université Laval and a Certificate in Communication Skills from New York University.
