Laura Walker McDonald is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in technology, data ethics, and humanitarian efforts. Currently serving as Senior Advisor for New Technologies & Conflict at the International Committee of the Red Cross, McDonald focuses on the intersection of technology and conflict, engaging with various stakeholders to address critical topics such as cybersecurity and data protection. McDonald holds concurrent roles as an Expert Reviewer for the United Nations OCHA and as a Principal at BetterLab.io, where limited consulting engagements on technology projects are provided. Previous leadership positions include Senior Director at the Digital Impact Alliance, Chief Executive Officer at Social Impact Lab, and Director of Innovation at the Global Alliance for Humanitarian Innovation. McDonald has also contributed to boards and committees dedicated to enhancing humanitarian outcomes and innovation.
