Miriam Kizito

Miriam Kizito has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Miriam is currently serving as the Chief of Unit Finance at the United Nations Office at Nairobi. Prior to this role, they worked as a Finance and Budget Officer in the United Nations Secretariat's Department of Management Strategy, Policy, and Compliance. Their responsibilities included the preparation of consolidated financial statements, review of financial reports, budget preparation, administration, and relevant reporting.

Before joining the United Nations, Miriam worked as a Finance Officer at the UN Regional Service Centre Entebbe (RSCE), where they were responsible for financial reporting for peacekeeping and special political missions in Africa. Miriam has also served as a Finance and Administration Manager at Bandwidth and Cloud Services Group (BCS), an Accountant at CNOOC Uganda Limited, and a Management Accountant at Africa Broadcasting (U) Ltd and Nation Media Group.

Miriam's key competencies include financial reporting, budget preparation and control, general ledger management, and supplier account reconciliation. Miriam has strong experience in handling financial transactions, maintaining accuracy, and ensuring timely reporting.

Miriam Kizito has a strong educational background with a focus on business administration, finance, accounting, and the oil and gas industry. Miriam began their education at Makerere University, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in the years 2002 to 2005. Miriam then pursued further studies and completed the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) program offered by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) from 2006 to 2007. Seeking to enhance their knowledge in the oil and gas sector, they attended MDT International UK from 2012 to 2014, where they earned a Certificate in Exploration and Production Accounting. Additionally, Miriam pursued an MBA with a specialization in Oil and Gas from the Edinburgh Business School at Heriot Watt University UK in 2014. Prior to this, they had already obtained a general MBA from the Edinburgh Business School from 2012 to 2013, with a focus on finance. Miriam's education journey showcases their dedication to acquiring expertise in various aspects of business, accounting, finance, and the oil and gas industry.
