Dumitru Vasilescu

Dumitru Vasilescu serves as a Research Specialist at the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) since August 2023, following a significant tenure at UNDP Moldova from May 2008 to September 2023, where roles included Policy Specialist and Project Manager, focusing on private sector engagement for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Notably, Vasilescu led the first UN-led solar blockchain pilot for energy transition during this time. Earlier experience includes serving as Project Coordinator at CONTACT NGO Moldova from September 2005 to September 2006 and as Coordinator for the Department of International Cooperation at the Institute of Political Studies and International Relations (IPSIR) from May 2002 to May 2006. Dumitru Vasilescu holds a Master of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences, Berlin, obtained between 2006 and 2008.
