Sumeeta Banerji is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international development and governance. Currently serving as a UN System Affairs Specialist and Policy Specialist at the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) since June 2018, Sumeeta has built a solid foundation in policy formulation and international collaboration. Prior roles include Assistant Country Director & Head of Democratic Governance at UNDP from September 2007 to May 2018, and Resource Person & Moderator for the Poverty Community of Practice at the United Nations from March 2005 to September 2007. Sumeeta’s earlier experience includes positions as Development Advisor at the Canadian International Development Agency and Social and Economic Analyst at the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi. A co-founder and managing partner at Glossar, Sumeeta holds multiple degrees, including a Master's in International Relations and Diplomacy from Diplomatische Akademie Wien and a Bachelor's in History from Lady Shri Ram College for Women. Additionally, Sumeeta participated in the India Leadership Initiative at the Aspen Institute from 2006 to 2008.
