United Nations Population Fund
Mohammad Nadeem Noor serves as the Head of Office at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) since September 2015, overseeing the management of funds and operations for India's most populous and poverty-stricken province. Prior experience includes a role as Gender Officer at UNDP from August 2009 to August 2015, where Mohammad conceived and developed the Vulnerability Index of women for the Government of India's High Level Committee on Status of Women, focusing on multi-dimensional indicators. Additionally, as Officer in Charge, management of the Uttar Pradesh project office on women’s empowerment was undertaken, leading to the mobilization of over 53,000 vulnerable women and the creation of successful self-help groups and producer companies. Earlier, as Programme Coordinator for the Government of Delhi from August 2008 to August 2009, responsibilities included coordinating efforts to mainstream gender across various government departments and initiating a safe city project for women. Mohammad holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Gender, Body, and Sexuality from The University of Manchester.
