Myriam Baele serves as the Chief of the Ethics Office at UNRWA since March 2020, bringing extensive experience from a 25-year tenure at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, where a variety of leadership roles included Senior Advisor for Ethics and PSEA, Senior Durable Solutions Officer, and Senior Resettlement Officer among others. Prior to this, Myriam held positions at the Commissariat- General aux Refugiés et Apatrides and gained legal experience as a trainee lawyer at Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick and as a cabinet cooperator at the Cabinet of the Minister of Interior Affairs in the Flemish Community. Myriam's academic credentials include a Master in Law specializing in International Public Law from Ghent University and a complementary Master's degree in European Law from Université libre de Bruxelles.
