Thomas Elter

Thomas Elter currently serves as the Head of the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit and Information Management Specialist at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) since August 2023. Prior to this role, Thomas held various positions within the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) from July 2021 to August 2023, including Information Management Officer for both Ukraine and Iraq. Thomas’s experience with the United Nations also includes serving as Coordination Officer and Associate Administrative Officer at the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) from October 2017 to December 2020, and as Associate Programme Management Officer at UNHQ. Earlier roles include serving as Aide-de-Camp to the Commander of the NATO Communications and Information Systems Group and an Operations Officer in the Bundeswehr (German Federal Armed Forces). Thomas holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Helmut-Schmidt-Universität/Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg.
