David McLachlan-Karr is an accomplished diplomat with extensive experience in humanitarian and development coordination within the United Nations. Since May 2015, David serves as the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, UN Resident, and UN Humanitarian Coordinator for MONUSCO in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where responsibilities include overseeing country-wide UN humanitarian and development initiatives. David's previous roles include Resident Coordinator for the UNDP Country Office and leadership of the UN Country Team, as well as serving as the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Sierra Leone. David's background includes a Master of Philosophy in International Relations from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Law and Political Science from The University of Queensland.
