Joachim Harris

Joachim Harris is an experienced media and communications professional with a robust background in business development and leadership within prominent organizations. Currently serving as the Deputy Director of News & Media at the United Nations since May 2017, Joachim leads a team of over 60 staff and manages four business units in the Department of Global Communications. Prior to this role, Joachim worked at Reuters News Agency from August 2014 to May 2017 as the Head of Business Development for EMEA, focusing on content licensing and distribution across multiple platforms. Joachim's experience also includes a significant tenure at BBC World Service from 2004 to 2014, where responsibilities ranged from increasing broadcast reach and revenue in Africa to managing a large number of partnerships. Earlier professional experience includes roles at BBC Worldwide and Highbury House Communications. Joachim holds an MA in Music Composition and a BA in Music from the University of Bristol.
