Laura Ribeiro Rodrigues Pereira has extensive experience in international relations and human rights, currently serving as a Programme Management Officer and previously as a Political Affairs Officer at the United Nations since September 2015. Laura's work focuses on Women, Peace and Security, inclusive ceasefire negotiations, and human rights protection in relation to counter-terrorism and transnational organized crime, with a country focus on Afghanistan, Colombia, and Haiti. Before joining the UN, Laura held positions with GPPAC, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation, NRC, UNRWA, FAO, UNAIS International Service, Wesley Gryk Solicitors, and Global Witness. Laura holds a Master of Laws in International Law from the University of London, a Bachelor of Laws from SOAS University of London, and a diploma in Human Rights and Forced Displacement from the United Nations University for Peace.
