Mahmoud Mohieldin

UN Special Envoy On Financing The 2030 Agenda at United Nations

Mahmoud Mohieldin is a distinguished Professor of Economics at Cairo University since October 1986 and has held various academic positions there, including Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. In addition to his role at Cairo University, Mohieldin serves as a Senior Fellow at The Brookings Institution and as the UN Special Envoy on Financing the 2030 Agenda with the United Nations. Mahmoud is actively involved in several organizations, holding leadership roles as President of the Middle East Economic Association and Chairman of the Arab Society for Economic Research. Mohieldin is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Nile University and has held visiting professorships at multiple universities, including Durham University Business School, Yonsei University, and United Arab Emirates University. Mohieldin earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Warwick and a Master of Science degree from the University of York, among other qualifications.
