Mark Draeck is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sustainable development, circular economy, and renewable energy. Currently serving as Chief Technical Advisor on Circular Economy in Global Value Chains at the United Nations, Mark has led initiatives aiming to integrate circular economy practices within various industries such as Plastic Packaging, Textiles & Garments, and Electronics & ICT. Previous roles at the United Nations include Programme Coordinator on Sustainable Cities and Settlements, where significant contributions were made towards low-carbon technologies and sustainable urban development across numerous countries, and Industrial Development Officer, managing substantial technical cooperation programmes in clean technology innovation. Mark's prior experience includes leadership positions at IT Power Ltd. and the Flemish Energy Agency, along with a foundational role in biotechnology research. Academic credentials include a Master’s in Biological Sciences from KU Leuven, an MBA from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, and studies in Environmental Management from Ghent University.
