Academic Lead Unitac (un Innovation Technology Accelerator Or Cities) UN Habitat, OICT at United Nations

Prof. Dr. Gesa Ziemer serves as the Academic Lead for UNITAC at the United Nations since January 2021, contributing to the UN Innovation Technology Accelerator for Cities under UN Habitat and OICT. Since April 2011, Ziemer has led the CityScience Lab at HafenCity Universität Hamburg (HCU) in collaboration with the MIT Media Lab, while also holding the titles of Professor for Cultural Theory and Cultural Practice, Vice President of Research, and Founding Dean of the Metropolitan Culture study program. Additionally, Ziemer has been a member of the Accreditation Committee of the Scientific Council of Germany since November 2016 and previously served as a Professor of Cultural Theory, Aesthetics, and Art Education at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. Ziemer's academic qualifications include a Lizenziat in Philosophy from the University of Zurich, a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Potsdam, and a St. Galler Leadership Zertifikat from the University of St.Gallen.
