Shereen Zorba is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in communication, media, and international relations. Currently serving as the Head of the Secretariat of the United Nations Science-Policy-Business Forum on the Environment since May 2018, Shereen also holds the position of Global Head for the Science-Policy Interface and Knowledge Networks at UNEP, a role maintained since May 2001. Previous roles at UNEP include Global Head of News and Media, Public Information Specialist, and Chief of Communications and Outreach for UNEP/ROWA. Shereen's background also includes serving as Head of the Press Office and Deputy Spokesperson for United Nations Peacekeeping from April 2006 to October 2008, and as a News Anchor at the Egyptian Broadcasting Corporation from 1991 to 2001. Academically, Shereen holds a Master’s degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of London, a Higher Diploma in International Relations and Affairs from Webster Vienna Private University, a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Alexandria, and a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Alexandria.
