Varuna Sanjaya Dharmaratna

Varuna Sanjaya Dharmaratna is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sustainable development and financial management. Currently serving as the Sustainable Development Fund Manager at the United Nations since July 2021, Varuna leads the strategic direction and coordination of the UNSLSDG Fund while fostering collaboration among various UN agencies and government entities. Previous positions include Sustainable Development Fund Coordinator at the UN, Finance and Administration Officer at Lion Car and Truck Rentals, Integrated Knowledge Team Leader at UNDP, and Project Specialist at the Japan International Cooperation Agency. Varuna holds multiple advanced degrees from the University of Colombo, including a Master of Development Studies and an MBA, alongside various certifications in accounting and finance.
