Ria Gray

Vice President Retail Merchandising at United Natural Foods

Ria Gray has a diverse work experience in the retail industry. Ria started their career at SUPERVALU in 2008, where they held various positions such as Merchandising Assistant, Sales Analyst, Sales Associate, and Center Store Sales Consultant. In these roles, they managed accounts, implemented merchandising techniques, analyzed sales data, and collaborated with store owners and other departments.

In 2013, Ria became a Center Store Merchandiser at SUPERVALU, where they managed a $70M food business consisting of 50 vendors and negotiated promotional funding.

In 2014, they were promoted to Lead Center Store Merchandiser, responsible for managing a $43M+ food business and working closely with the senior merchandising team.

In 2015, Ria became a Senior Merchandiser at SUPERVALU, where they took on P&L responsibility for over $1B in wholesale sales and increased vendor funding through promotional programs.

In 2018, Ria was promoted to Director of Sales at SUPERVALU, where they collaborated with key regional grocery chains and internal stakeholders to develop joint business plans and grow sales and market share.

In 2019, they joined UNFI as a Director of Sales before being promoted to Senior Director, and then Vice President of Sales. In these roles, they collaborated to service $1.5B wholesale purchases to independent retailers across multiple distribution centers.

Currently, Ria holds the position of Vice President Retail Merchandising at UNFI, demonstrating their progressive growth and expertise in the retail and sales industry.

Ria Gray has a Food Industry Management Certificate from the University of Southern California, which they obtained in 2018. Prior to that, they completed an MBA in Marketing at Ashford University from 2009 to 2011. Ria also has a BA in Sociology from the University of Lynchburg, which they earned from 2005 to 2008. Additionally, Ria attended WPHS, although no specific degree or field of study is provided for that institution.
