Carly Layman

Carly Layman is an experienced instructional designer and technical writer with a career spanning over 18 years, primarily at the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) since October 2006. In the role of Instructional Designer, Carly manages full-cycle projects, utilizing tools such as Articulate Storyline and Adobe PowerPoint to create online courses and job aids, while applying adult learning methodologies. Previous positions at UNOS included roles as a Technical Writer, where Carly translated technical concepts for non-technical audiences, Trainer/Educator III, and Technology Implementation Coordinator. Additionally, Carly managed social media platforms and design for West Elm from October 2018 to July 2024, enhancing brand awareness through creative content. Early experience at AMSEC LLC involved quality control and editorial checks on technical documents. Carly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in English from Radford University.
