Alex Butler

Alex Butler is a seasoned sports journalist with extensive experience in both editorial and writing roles. Currently serving as a Senior Sports Writer and Sports Editor at United Press International since December 2014, Alex has been instrumental in editing and producing sports content for UPI.com. As a Contract Writer for Miami Herald Media Company, Alex has covered a range of sports and news across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties since August 2013. A freelance sports writer since August 2009, Alex has contributed to several notable publications, including Newsday, Charlotte Observer, and Scout.com. Previous positions also include contract writing for Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers, contributing writing for Fox Sports Net, and multiple internships that provided diverse sports coverage. Alex holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and English Literature from Miami University.
