Jennifer Staats is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in international security and policy. Currently serving as the Director of East Asia and Pacific Programs at the United States Institute of Peace since February 2016, Jennifer has held various leadership roles, including Director of China Programs. At the National Security Council, The White House, Jennifer worked as Director of Advanced Capabilities for a brief period in 2022. Previous positions include Director of Cybersecurity and National Cyber Partnerships at the United States Department of Defense and roles at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, Harvard University. Jennifer holds a PhD in Public Policy with a focus on International Security from Harvard University and an MPA in International Relations from Princeton University, complemented by a BA in Political Science from The University of the South.
