Sandra Poni Tombe, Ph.D., currently serves as a Research Program Officer at the United States Institute of Peace, focusing on the intersection of religion and nonviolent movements and supporting initiatives on diversity, equity, and inclusion in peacebuilding. Previously, Sandra worked as a Research Consultant with the Transparency and Accountability Initiative, analyzing the impact of COVID-19 on the development sector, and held various research and teaching roles at George Mason University and the University of Louisville. Additional experience includes directing the Conflict Resolution Youth Summit, interpreting for Arabic-speaking clients, and contributing to student publications. Sandra holds a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University, a Master's in French Language and Literature from the University of Louisville, and a Bachelor's in International Relations and French from Berea College.
