Douglas Schiess

Douglas Schiess serves as the Commander of U.S. Space Forces - Space at the United States Space Force since May 2022, leading thousands of personnel across 70 tactical units to conduct global space operations. Additionally, Douglas holds the position of Commander of the Combined Force Space Component Command for U.S. Space Command, overseeing over 17,000 personnel. With a distinguished career in the United States Air Force spanning nearly three decades, Douglas has held various significant roles, including Deputy Commanding General of Operations and Commander of the 45th Space Wing. Douglas is well-educated, holding multiple master's degrees in National Security Strategy, Organizational Management, Space Systems Technology, and Human Resources Management, along with a bachelor's degree in Physics.
