Kaitlyn Johnson

Deputy Director, Strategic Initiatives Group at United States Space Force

Kaitlyn Johnson has extensive work experience in various organizations related to defense, aerospace, and space security. Kaitlyn currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Strategic Initiatives Group at the United States Space Force. Prior to this role, Kaitlyn worked at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in several positions, including Deputy Director and Fellow of the Aerospace Security Project, Associate Director of the Aerospace Security Project, and Research Associate. Kaitlyn also had previous experience as a Program Manager and Research Associate for the Defense-Industrial Initiatives Group and as a Research Intern for the Defense-Industrial Initiatives Group at CSIS. Additionally, Kaitlyn worked as a Defense Policy and Arms Control Intern at the Congressional Research Service, a Defense Policy and Budget Intern at the American Enterprise Institute, and an Intern for the Office of the Coordinator of U.S. Assistance to Europe and Eurasia at the U.S. Department of State.

Kaitlyn Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in International Affairs from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2014. Kaitlyn then pursued a Master of Arts degree in U.S. Foreign Policy and National Security from American University School of International Service, completing it in 2016.
