Nate Hofland

Nate Hofland is an experienced engineer specializing in tailings and geotechnical engineering, currently serving as the Responsible Tailings Facilities Engineer for Minnesota Ore Operations at United States Steel Corporation since January 2022. Prior to this role, Nate worked at Cleveland-Cliffs as a Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer at the Hibbing Taconite Mine and previously provided geotechnical engineering support for tailings storage facilities and various civil and mining engineering projects. Nate's career began at Barr Engineering Co. as a Geotechnical Engineer and included an internship at Barrick Gold Corporation. Nate holds a Master of Science in Mine Engineering and Management from South Dakota Mines and a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from Montana Technological University.
