Lula Skowronek

Lula Skowronek is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in social services and program management. Since November 2015, Lula has served as the Executive Director of Priority Veteran at the United Way of Central Alabama. Prior to this role, Lula was the Executive Director at The Alliance from October 2013 to November 2015, overseeing a collaboration that provided foster care and in-home interventions to families. Lula's career began at Gateway (Child & Family Services), where from March 2003 to October 2013, responsibilities included Program Director for FOCUS, which offered intensive parent education to prevent children from entering foster care, and Program Coordinator for Family Counseling in Birmingham. Lula holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Sociology from Smith College.
