Shakeitha Tatum has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Shakeitha began their career at Colonial Bank in 1999, where they worked as a Data Validation Manager, responsible for balancing accounts, investigating transactions, and ensuring data security. In 2008, they joined the Alabama Department of Human Resources as a Caseworker, where they handled abuse/neglect and sexual abuse cases involving minors. Shakeitha then transitioned to the role of Kinship Care Specialist, providing assistance to families and addressing school-related concerns. In 2013, Shakeitha joined the United Way of Central Alabama, initially as a Housing Counselor, helping individuals and Veterans with housing-related issues. Over the years, they progressed through various roles, including Director of the Community Service Response Center, Director of Agency Relations & Allocations, and Vice President of Agency Relations. In these positions, they focused on cultivating partner relationships, increasing collaboration and visibility of funded agencies, and leading the Info & Referral team. Shakeitha Tatum has a strong educational background in social work. Shakeitha obtained their Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from The University of Alabama from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2007 to 2008. Shakeitha also holds another Bachelor of Social Work degree from Miles College, which they completed from 2004 to 2007.
In addition to their academic achievements, Shakeitha has also pursued various certifications to enhance their professional skills.
