Ashley Manthei has a range of work experience in communications and writing. Ashley started in 2012 as a Viewpoint Editor for The UW-La Crosse Racquet, where they oversaw the Viewpoint section, edited and assigned articles, and wrote their own pieces. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a News Director/On Air Talent for WMCM - UW-La Crosse Student Run TV Station, where they assisted with behind-the-scenes tasks and also appeared on air for shows like Afternoon Delight and Screening Room. In 2013, they also served as an Editing and Writing Intern for Coulee Region Women Magazine, gaining experience in journalism. Starting in 2013, Ashley worked as a Server at Kate's on State, where they developed skills in customer service, multitasking, and teamwork. From 2015 to 2019, they worked as a Creative Content Specialist for American Family Insurance, writing copy for various platforms. In 2016, they transitioned to the role of Creative Marketing Copywriter within the same company. Most recently, they served as Deputy Communications Director for the Office of State Senator Jennifer Shilling and is currently working as a Director of Communications for United Way of Dane County, both positions held in 2020.
Ashley Manthei earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Media Studies, Professional Writing, and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Ashley attended the university from 2011 to 2015.
