Ellen Dickenson has a diverse range of work experience. Ellen began their career as a Technical Assistant at MIT, where they conducted research projects and provided technical support. Ellen then transitioned to the role of Invention Education Associate, managing teams of high school students, teachers, and mentors in developing inventions. After leaving MIT, Ellen worked as an Instructor at the Boston Museum of Science, where they gained experience in education and instruction. Ellen then took on the role of Operations Summer Associate at Jumpstart before joining UP Education Network as an Education Pioneers Operations Fellow. Ellen's next role was at Boston After School & Beyond, where they served as the Director of Partnerships & STEM, managing initiatives to strengthen school-community partnerships and expand STEM learning. Currently, Ellen is working at the United Way of Massachusetts Bay, where they have held positions as Senior Director of Evaluation, Vice President of Analytics, and is currently the Senior Vice President of Research, Analytics, and Planning. Overall, Ellen has a diverse background in research, education, and project management.
Ellen Dickenson earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Operations from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst from 2011 to 2013. In 2012, they also pursued an MBA at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to their MBA degrees, Ellen completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biology at McGill University, which took place from 2001 to 2005.
