Angela Dansie Matthes

Angela Dansie Matthes has a strong background in finance and strategy, with experience in various leadership roles. Angela is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at the United Way of Salt Lake since July 2021. Prior to this, they held the same position at WZRD Media from June 2020 to June 2021.

Before their roles as CFO, Angela worked as a Financial Services Consultant as a self-employed contractor from August 2019 to June 2020. During this time, they focused on projects related to their role as a stay-at-home mom of preemie twins, as well as serving as a guest lecturer and case study author for The Women in AMIA Leadership Program.

From May 2018 to July 2019, Angela served as the VP of Finance & Strategy at Dsco.io. In this role, they oversaw all financial functions, including financial and accounting system controls, cash flow monitoring, P&L management, and accounting activities.

Before joining Dsco.io, Angela worked as the Administration Manager at the University of Utah School of Medicine from November 2015 to May 2018. Angela was a member of the department executive committee and served as the Business Director for the ReImagineEHR Initiative.

From April 2014 to November 2015, Angela held multiple roles at Neutron Interactive. Angela started as the Director of Finance and Accounting, managing various departments while being a part of the executive team. Angela then took on the role of Financial Controller, where they assisted in reducing G&A spend and managing accounting systems for spin-off companies. Prior to that, they were the Office Manager and Executive Assistant at Neutron Interactive, reporting directly to the CFO and co-founder.

Earlier in their career, Angela worked as an Office Manager at London Sage Dental Arts from August 2008 to February 2010 and as a Resident Assistant at Franklin University Switzerland from August 2007 to May 2008.

Angela Dansie Matthes holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs, which they obtained from Franklin University Switzerland between the years 2005 and 2008. Later, they pursued a Master of Science in Finance with a focus on Management Information Systems and Services at the University of Utah - David Eccles School of Business from 2014 to 2016. In addition to their academic achievements, Angela also obtained certifications as a Xero Certified Advisor from Xero in June 2015 and as a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt from the University of Utah Executive Education Program in September 2014.
