Garet Hawley, SHRM-CP, MHR has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Garet started their career in 2005 as a Sports Editor at West Salem High School, where they led a team of reporters and wrote a monthly column.
In 2008, they worked as a Program Aid and Field-trip Supervisor at Boys & Girls Clubs of America, where they placed strategic aids and supervised children on field trips.
From 2009 to 2011, Garet served as a Full-time Volunteer Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brazil, where they taught and served the community and organized events and service projects.
In 2012, they worked as a Sales Representative at Jackson Trading Company, where they achieved ambitious sales goals and managed inventory shipments.
From 2013 to 2014, Garet worked at BYU-Idaho as a Human Resources Assistant and contributed as a weekly reporter for The Scroll. Garet also served as a Lead AV Technician and maintained technical equipment.
From 2013 to 2013, they interned as a Human Resources Intern at Rexburg Chamber of Commerce, where they promoted chamber members and increased membership.
In 2015, Garet joined United Way of Salt Lake as a Human Resources Specialist and later served as a Human Resources Manager. Currently, they hold the role of Senior Director, People Operations at the same company. Garet solves problems, improves processes, and leads with appreciation, challenge, and support.
Throughout their career, Garet has demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and a dedication to improving processes and delivering results. Garet holds a SHRM-CP certification and a Master's degree in Human Resources.

Prior to that, from 2007 to 2014, they studied at Brigham Young University - Idaho and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication, Journalism, and Portuguese.
Garet Hawley has also obtained several certifications to further enhance their professional development. In November 2014, they completed a certification in Human Resource Management from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD). In December 2020, they became a SHRM - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) after receiving certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Most recently, in April 2021, Garet completed Crucial Learning's Crucial Conversations Trainer certification.
