Kim Dennis is an experienced leader in the nonprofit and media sectors, currently serving as the Area Director at United Way of the Coastal Empire since June 2022. Prior to this role, Kim held the position of General Manager at Effingham Herald from February 2016 to May 2022 and served as the Executive Director at YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. from November 1999 to January 2016. Kim Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Theater Education from Georgia Southern University, earned between 1993 and 1996.

The mission of United Way of the Coastal Empire is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities. Our focus is on our commitment to the most vulnerable in our community with an emphasis on basic human needs such as food, shelter, health, and safety in addition to community disaster response. This means providing pathways for Upward Mobility, with a focus on the thousands of our neighbors who have been unable to get ahead, living one paycheck or one crisis away from devastation.
