Ilse Dekoeyer

Early Relational Health Specialist at United Way of Utah County

Ilse DeKoeyer is an experienced professional in child development and psychology, currently serving as an Early Relational Health Specialist at United Way of Utah County since August 2023. With a longstanding academic career as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Utah since August 2002, Ilse has extensively taught undergraduate students in the Psychology Department, also contributing as Career-line Faculty for the past ten years. Prior experience includes a role as a Child Development Specialist at Help Me Grow Utah from February 2015 to September 2023, focusing on providing resources and support for child development. Additionally, Ilse was the President of the Utah Association for Infant Mental Health from 2013 to 2017, promoting infant mental health initiatives. Ilse's earlier work includes co-directing the Infancy Research Lab at the University of Utah between January 2000 and June 2006, where research concentrated on mother-infant relationships and infant emotions. Educational accomplishments include a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Utrecht University and an M.A. in Psychology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
