Desmond P. Smith is the EVP & Chief Growth Officer at United Wholesale Mortgage. Desmond has over 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry.

Smith began their career in 1995 as a Senior Vice President at Wells Fargo. Desmond then spent nine years at JPMorgan Chase, where they rose to the position of Senior Vice President. In 2010, they joined Citi as Managing Director.

In 2015, Smith left Citi to become Head of Production at Capital One Home Loans. Desmond held this position for a year and a half before joining Fannie Mae as SVP / Chief Customer Officer - Single Family Business. Desmond stayed with Fannie Mae for over four years, until they were appointed to their current role at United Wholesale Mortgage in 2021.
