Da Scott Tierno M.ed

Scott Tierno has extensive work experience in various leadership and management roles. Scott currently serves as the Director of The Academic Leadership Academy at Unitek Learning. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Faculty Apprentice Programs at the same company.

Before joining Unitek Learning, Scott worked at Southern New Hampshire University for over two decades. During their time there, they held several roles, including Adjunct Faculty, Executive Director of Executive Ceremonies & Celebrations, Executive Director of Commencement Activities, Executive Director of the Student Center & Student Affairs Specialist, Director of Student Life and the Student Center, and Director of Student Organizations & Leadership and the Student Center. In these roles, they were responsible for various aspects of student affairs, event planning, and staff supervision. Scott also played a key role in securing funding and managing renovation projects.

Prior to their tenure at Southern New Hampshire University, Scott worked at Vanderbilt University, where they served as Senior Events Program Coordinator, Project Manager, Interim Manager of Signature Events, Director of Commencement & Special Events, and was involved in leadership training programs, vendor management, and successful event project delivery.

Throughout their career, Scott has demonstrated strong leadership skills, project management expertise, and a commitment to delivering successful events and programs.

Scott Tierno holds a Doctor of Arts (DA) degree in Leadership from Franklin Pierce University. Scott also has a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Business, Communications, and Performing Arts from Plymouth State University. In addition, they have obtained a certificate in Protocol from The Protocol School of Washington.

Scott Tierno has also earned several additional certifications. Scott completed a course on Virtual and Hybrid Meeting Essentials from LinkedIn in November 2021. In March 2019, they obtained the Fundamentals of Security and Resilience certification from Northeastern University. Scott is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) from the Project Management Institute, which they achieved in November 2021.
