Steve Watkins has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Steve started their career as an MIS Support Technician at Chevron, where they gained experience in troubleshooting and cataloging desktop systems. Later, they worked as a Database Administrator and Search Researcher at Clancy Associates.

In 1995, Steve joined Quantum Corp. as a Contract Recruiter and Sourcer, where they sourced and screened candidates for various positions. Steve then moved to Silicon Graphics, Inc. as a Contract Recruiter/Sourcer, where they assisted in designing and testing a candidate tracking database.

In 1997, Steve joined HTC Research as the Director of Research. Here, they refined search research processes and sourced candidates for corporate Staffing Managers. Steve also worked with a team to profile candidates from different industries.

From 1999 to 2011, Steve worked at Unitek Education and Unitek Learning, progressing through various roles. Steve initially served as the Director of Program Development at Unitek Education, managing consulting and vocational training services for clients nationwide. Steve was also a member of the founding team of Boots on the Roof, Unitek's training division focused on solar and wind energy systems.

At Unitek Learning, Steve held several roles, including Staffing Manager, Director of Partner Relations, Director of Career Services, Campus Director, and finally, the VP of Program Development and Regulatory Affairs. In this role, they collaborated with the Executive team and Campus Leaders on new programs, locations, and regulatory compliance. Steve was responsible for implementing and optimizing processes for market research, regulatory compliance, and development of accredited education programs.

From 1987 to 1992, Steve Watkins attended UC Santa Barbara, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics.
